We are please to announce that because conditions are continuing to improve, Carolina Mainsheet School of Sailing has resumed operations for the remainder of our 2018 season.

However, we are not accepting any new students  at this time.

JORDAN LAKE:

Check Water Level at Jordan Lake

Still has a few problems mostly involving clean up and floating debris.

Ebenezer Church Recreational Area (the only facility we are allowed to conduct classes) is once again open. That is good news for 2018 ASA 110 students who want to RESCHEDULE for classes that are still open in October and November.

But also consider that you can roll your 2018 ASA 110 REGISTRATION into

our 2019 class schedule which we are working on at this time.

In 2019, we will continue offering Make-Up classes at Jordan Lake for our 2018 students.

***No classes for new students at Jordan Lake will be offered in the years to come***

2018 ASA 110 students, please standby for an email update concerning some exciting new offerings in 2019 that you will be eligible for if you roll your 2018 REGISTRATION forward.

RIVER WATER POLLUTION:

The Neuse River at New Bern remains polluted from flooding up stream, including pollution from 11 hog farms in the River's Basin and other runoff including that from a Duke Energy coal ash facility near Goldsboro. But things are improving and we're working on our schedule to get all of our ASA 101 Students RESCHEDULED for either this season or optionally, our upcoming 2019 schedule.

MASSIVE MOSQUITO PROBLEM:

Still applies to any outdoor activity.

The State of North Carolina has a major mosquito problem   presenting an additional health risk and adding to our concerns for our student's well being not only here at the coast but also in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and Jordan Lake areas. We'll be needing some very cold weather before that problem is resolved.

Mosquito-Pocalypse / USA Today:

To all students, if you are or were scheduled for a class at Carolina Mainsheet or if you have tried to Reschedule a class since Hurricane Florence, we kindly ask that you continue to be patient.  The cable network (Internet service) in our area is currently held together with paper clips and gum wrappers. Remember, it too was under water for several days. It goes down multiple times a day. We're trying our level best to get it touch with all of our students to help you complete the courses you signed up for.

We are working as hard and fast as we can to get everything back up and running.

During the next few days, we will be reaching out to all of our students effected by the storm to help you with your rescheduling options for our 2019 season.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
