2017 ASA 104 Schedule:

For ASA 104 Bare Boat Cruising

* Onboard Lodging Available: (See Note)

ABOUT OUR ASA 105 - While  ASA 105 Coastal Navigation does not require sailing knowledge and experience, it is actually one of the most difficult certifications that the American Sailing Association offers.  Indeed many USCG captains who may have easily passed the navigation exam to become a licensed captain, find they struggle with the ASA 105 exam. That's why we at Carolina Mainsheet have structured the ASA 105 course into two parts.

Part One - is an introduction basic navigation that sets the foundation upon which a competent navigator can build strong skills and detailed knowledge of the subject. Although it is primarily an introduction to various topics of coastal navigation, it covers nearly everything the student will see on the ASA 105 certification exam. When Part One is completed, the student will be ready to work on their own to study and practice in advance of their certification exam. And while some sailors may never seek ASA 105 certification, they will have all the skills needed to successful pass the navigation portion of ASA 103 Basic Coastal Cruising.

Part Two - is a complete review of all the major navigation concepts including all the practice work assigned at the end of Part One.  It introduces the rest of the material you'll need for the final exam and prepares you to successfully complete your certification. After completing your ASA 105 certification, you'll find that you have a new and assuring confidence charting you passage on the open water.

We hope you'll join us for both Parts One and Two....
